 The Taj Kumal is Akumal's little Taj Mahal by the sea, and has air-conditioned bedrooms, dramatic Moroccan Mediterranean architecture and a beautiful ocean side swimming pool. It's location on the north end of Akumal Bay makes this villa unique and convenient to everything in central Akumal; including the Lol Ha beach bar, several restaurants, two dive facilities, gift stores, two markets, the gym and more. You couldn't ask for a better location than this!
The entrance to this walled estate is through a large wooden gate which opens to a winding brick walkway and green lawn lined by tropical palm trees. Right by the entrance is the carriage house with the fourth bedroom for the house. This detached bedroom has a queen size bed and private bedroom. Past the entrance the sidewalk winds through the green lawn and palm trees to the hand carved mahogany front door to Taj Kumal. Inside, the hall opens to the entrance foyer, which has an immediate view of the pool through a large glass wall slider, then it leads directly to the living room. In the living room a built-in couch with a coffee table and chairs is arranged in-the-round with a domed brick ceiling overhead and a window view of the verdant grounds. The swimming pool on the ocean side of the villa can also be seen from here. Continuing on, a couple steps down and immediately to the left reveals the tremendous kitchen area with an informal dining nook table, lots of counter space and a full array of kitchen accessories. A pass through from the kitchen services a raised counter with bar stools next to the formal dining room. The formal dining room seats eight and is spacious and open with a marvelous view of the swimming pool and ocean through the glass wall sliding doors. This is especially nice for buffet meals and parties that extend out onto the pool deck. A thatched party pavilion is also beside the pool for entertaining.
For sleeping arrangements, two bedrooms with private bathrooms are located on the ocean side of the villa at ground level, just off the pool deck. The third bedroom, the master bedroom suite, is on the second level accessed by a circular stairway. There is a nice view of the first floor, pool and pool deck from the interior balcony at the top of the circular stairway. The master bedroom suite is spacious and open with fresh breezes, a large private bathroom, extensive storage cabinets, comfortable lounge seating area and a furnished wrap around exterior terrace that has an elevated incomparable view of the pool and Akumal Bay.
The carriage house casita is at the gated entrance to the villa and has one independent air conditioned bedroom with 1 queen bed, and a separate bi-level apartment with an upper level king bedroom and a lower level kitchenette and a living room. Each of these accommodations sleeps two people. The bi-level apartment is an additional charge.
 From the opposite side of the second floor of the main house a stairwell leads up to the rooftop observation deck. An absolutely spectacular view of Akumal Bay and its sweeping panoramic seascape can be enjoyed from here. A built-in table and circular couch is provided for daytime fun and evening star gazing. It just doesn't get much better than this! Approximately 3,500 sq. ft. interior.
